West Des Moines, IA (June 6, 2005) – Icon Labs (www.icon-labs.com) a leading provider of embedded networking solutions, today announced the availability of IPv6 support for Envoy SNMP for Embedded Linux, Solaris and BSD operating systems. Envoy SNMP now supports transport of SNMP PDUs over IPv6 networks and implements the IPv6 SNMP MIBs. Supported RFCs include:
(RFC 1907 – Updated System and SNMP group)
(RFC 2011 – Updated UDP group)
(RFC 2012 – Updated TCP group)
(RFC 2013 – Updated IP group)
(RFC 2096 – new IP Route Table)

(RFC 2454 - IPv6 UDP information)
(RFC 2465 - Textual Conventions & General Group)
(RFC 2466 - ICMP)
“As network equipment manufacturers are adding IPv6 support to their devices, they are requiring networking management tools capable of working in an IPv6 network”, said Alan Grau, president of Icon Labs. “Envoy SNMP with IPv6 provides the capability to operate in either a pure IPv6 network or a mixed IPv4/IPv6 network, enabling OEMs greater flexibility in migrating to IPv6.”
Envoy SNMP version 9.3 with IPv6 support is immediately available for the Linux, Solaris and BSD operating systems and can be easily ported to other platforms. Envoy provides support for SNMP protocol versions v1/v2c/v3/AgentX and SNMP Proxy. The package includes a MIB compiler that generates an SNMP agent framework from an SNMP MIB specification. MIB-II agent source code is provided and is easily extended to support enterprise MIBs.
